2023 Nissan Frontier Pro-4X

The complete build.

Not a showroom build. A working weekend platform shaped by real trips, changing needs and the simple goal of making it easier to leave.

Inside the build

Sleep. Store. Power. Connect.

A quick walk-through of the canopy, sleeping platform, water and power system, 2000W inverter, portable power and in-cab technology.

The build is designed as one connected system: equipment stays accessible, camp setup stays manageable and every upgrade has a practical job.

Foundation

2023 Nissan Frontier Pro-4X

The platform for weekend escapes, BC backroads and a continually evolving DIY overland system.

Protection

Exterior and recovery equipment

Protection and recovery equipment are positioned for access outside the living area. The latest additions include an ARB differential cover, traction boards and a rear spare-tire carrier.

Storage

Canopy cabinetry and access

Custom framing and cabinetry create dedicated locations for power, cooking, recovery equipment and everyday camp gear. The real benefit is faster setup and pack-down, not simply carrying more.

Power

2000W inverter and portable power

The electrical setup supports camp lighting, charging, communications and everyday portable loads. Component access and clean routing remain as important as total output.

Field priorityServiceable wiring, accessible components and dependable charging matter more than impressive specifications that are difficult to maintain.
Connectivity

Starlink road setup

The roof-mounted Starlink system supports weather checks, changing route plans, remote work and communication when cellular coverage disappears.

Camp

Sleeping and basecamp system

The canopy balances enclosed sleeping space, utility storage and the ability to return to travel mode without rebuilding camp every morning.

Kitchen

Compact camp cooking

The kitchen setup stays intentionally simple: reliable heat, a stable work area and equipment that packs down quickly when it is time to move.
